Privacy Policy

1. Data collected

Focovi collects only what is necessary to operate the app:

• Descriptions — text you type or speak to build a timer. Your description is sent to AI, which produces the timer. By default your prompts are kept private and are not stored or used to improve AI suggestions. You can opt in to sharing in Settings, which allows anonymised versions of highly-rated results to improve suggestions for other users.
• AI-generated timer plans — the timer built from your description. Retained locally on your device and optionally synced via iCloud.
• Anonymous usage counts — app opens, timers built, and similar activity, tied to a unique ID on your phone, not linked to your identity. See section 6 for details.
• Terms acceptance record — when you accept the in-app disclaimer, we record your unique ID from your phone, the disclaimer version accepted, and a timestamp. This record contains no personal information and is retained for 7 years for legal compliance purposes.

2. Personal information

During setup, Focovi optionally collects a personal profile to personalize your AI suggestions. All fields are optional:

• Fitness profile — fitness goal, experience level, and activity level.
• Body stats — age, biological sex, height, and weight.
• Dietary preferences — such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, or kosher. Dietary preferences that reflect religious practice (including halal and kosher) are treated as sensitive data under GDPR Article 9.

This information is stored on your device only. It is never uploaded to our servers, linked to your identity, or shared with third parties.

Some of this information (for example your goal and dietary preferences) is included with your request when you generate a meal plan or timer suggestion, so the AI can tailor the result. It is used only for that request and is never saved on our servers.

To delete your profile at any time, go to Settings → My Profile → Delete profile. This removes all personal data from your device immediately and cannot be undone.

3. How your descriptions are processed

When you describe a workout or recipe, your text is sent to AI on US-based servers to build the timer. The following rules apply:

• Text you type or speak — sent to AI to build the timer. Private by default — not stored or used to improve suggestions unless you opt in under Settings. Not linked to your identity, not shared with third parties, not used for advertising.
• Recipes imported from a URL — fetched temporarily to generate your timer, then discarded immediately. Never retained.
• Photos — text is extracted on your device and never transmitted to our servers. The photo itself is never uploaded.

AI-generated content — all timers and plans are AI estimates. Always use your own judgement for food safety and exercise safety.

4. Your recipes and content

Your prompts and AI-generated content are private by default. This means:

• Your prompt is not stored on our servers when privacy is on.
• Your content is not used to improve AI results or shared with other users.
• Your result is not eligible for the community library regardless of its rating.

You can opt in to sharing at any time under Settings → Keep my content private (toggle off). When sharing is on, prompts from highly-rated results may be used anonymously to improve suggestions for other users. You can turn privacy back on at any time; existing shared data will be removed from the community library within one week.

Per-timer privacy can also be toggled individually: long-press any saved timer in your library to make it private or public regardless of your global setting.

5. Sign in with Apple

Signing in is optional. If you choose to sign in, Apple provides Focovi with an opaque identifier — a random string that represents your account, not your name or email. We store this identifier and associate it with your phone’s unique ID for cross-device data continuity. No personal information — no name, no email address — is stored on our servers without your explicit permission.

This association allows your disclaimer acceptance and account history to be recognized if you reinstall the app or sign in on a new device.

6. iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud sync, your saved timers are stored in your personal iCloud account. Focovi does not have access to your iCloud data.

7. Photos

When you use the photo-to-timer feature, Focovi accesses your photo library only to let you select an image. Text is extracted on your device — the image itself is never uploaded to our servers.

8. Analytics

Focovi collects anonymous usage counts (such as app opens, timers built, and timers completed) to understand how the app is used and improve it over time. These are tied to a unique ID on your phone. No personally identifiable information is collected.

• No IP addresses are stored.
• No names, emails, or account data are included in analytics events.
• Opt-out— you can turn this off at any time in the app under Settings → Share anonymous usage data. When disabled, nothing is sent.

Analytics data is retained for 90 days and then automatically deleted.

9. Third parties

Your descriptions are processed by AI on US-based servers. iCloud sync and Sign in with Apple are provided by Apple. We use no advertising networks or data brokers.

10. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any data we hold about you by emailing support@focovi.app. We will respond within 30 days.
